Do steroids help relieve joint pain?

I've been dealing with shoulder joint pain for quite a while. I find that glucosomine definitely helps keep the joints less achy, even pain-free sometimes. My concern is that when I start my cycle in a few months, the rapid increase in weight I will be lifting will stress my shoulder to the point where I really do some major damage. A friend insists steroids are the best treatment to lubricate bad joints and swears that I will have little to no pain during my cycle. Is there any truth to this??

Yes and no. Deca used on cycle low dose can provide some joint relief. Every cycle must have test. First cycle should be test only.

If it is from an injury, obviously go for physio and all that fun stuff but TB-500 would be your best bet.

No, not an injury, just 44 year old joints. It's weird...not quite internal aches, more like tenderness at the top of my shoulder bone.

    Steroid.....Corticosteroid.......Steroid........Co rticosteroid.

Corticosteroid's are used to combat inflammation. See the connection? Steroids have anti-inflammatory properties.

Great info to all... As I have an injured shoulder(3 laps done, w/the Dr's also taking part of my bicep tendon to repair labrum, + 2screws put in) now eventually need total reverse replacement... Ugh... But the Dr's say I'm to young for it at this time(30yrs old)!
But since runnin AAS.... I've noticed quite a bit less pain as well supplementing w/glucosamine helps out nicely!
Also, curious as to what TB-500 is and does??
    Thanks everyone and good thread!!!

This may be your Acromio-clavicular Joint - a small joint at the top of your shoulder. In lifters this joint can get squeezed causing the bones to rub together and can be very painful. I had to have mine widened via surgery on my left shoulder.

It's a simple procedure & may be worth discussing with an Orthopedic Surgeon...

I agree... As this part of my shoulder had to be removed due to big bone spurs on my Acromio-Clavicuar joint as well! And yes, can be very painful also leading to chronic Bersitus if not taken care of... Great point as a procedure would relieve pressure w/in the shoulder cavity!! Also, it's usually the first thing in shoulder to go... Then compensation will lead to much worse pain and maybe some tears down the line(during cycle one may have to not lift as heavy, though you may feel ya can - lust listen to your body, IMO!
Good luck as I don't wish pain on anyone, being that I have chronic pain issues...

    Interesting stuff, thanks everyone.
Surgery?? Well maybe as a last resort if things ever get really bad (and if my insurance would cover it). But for now, glucosamine w/ MSM, and not sleeping on my left side, seems to keep the aches tolerable.

Based on this image, the Acromio-clavicular Joint is exactly where the pain is. Thanks API!!
