what exactly are you saying, are you saying you are limited to gaining mass but not strength or did you make a typo and meant you are limited in the amount of mass you can put on without a spotter

i think so because when you have a spotter you can push yourself further. That way you put your muscles under more stress and hence get bigger.

plenty of athletes train without goin to failure. having a spot basically allows you to do just that. the question is ... "when do i know when my next rep is failure". personally i say always have a spot or do exercises that dont require one. if you workout with a spot, you will have to do more sets to get the same burn. i prefer less sets with more intensity. get a spot...youll probably be glad you did. plus you never know when your gonna hit that wall and have the weights come tumbling down on you.

i dont think so. i think when training alone you just need to implement for shocking principles like drop sets.

The biggest and strongest I ever got was when I was training alone. I know plenty of people who train alone. I do not think that you are at all limiting yourself by lifting alone. Thats what dumbells are for.

Why would you need a spotter, to lift the weight for you? It may be psychological that having someone watching you may make you stronger but other than that I don't see a point. Don't get me wrong, forced reps are a great way to shock the muscle but I wouldn't do it every workout.

spotters can help a bit but they are definately not a nessesity. only time i ever use spotters is for barbell bench but if u are familiar with ur own strength u dont really need at all....
