I'm trying to find a cheap squat rack like the one shown. I found it on the Wal-Mart website for $139 + $75 shipping. Is this a good price or is there something better out there??

$139?...........are you sure it looks like that?
Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, THAT IS STRENGTH
That's awfully cheap!
It's cheap because it is made by Weider. My guess it may be alright if you do not go real heavy otherwise the rack will wobble unless you bolt it down.
Dick's has one for $799., put the $214 down and they'll let you make payments.(layaway) On the other hand you could use the $799 and get a 8 year membership to your local gym.
If I were you I would get a squat rack that was a little better quality. It may cost a little more but in the end I think it will be worth it cause you can use a rack for so much more then just squats. I feel it is one of the most useful pieces of equipment in the gym.
You could buy it and always take it to a weld shop and have them reinforce it so that it's a bit stronger stronger.
GREAT idea.Originally Posted by BigMike J

another idea is go to a few auctions and try your luck
a buddy of mine went to an auction and picked up a squat rack and 400 pounds of weights for about 60 dollars, he had to out bid a farmer who was goingto use the weights to weigh down his tractor.... you might have to pay a little more than $60 but its worth a shot.....
