Thread: Egg beaters for breakfast

    Egg beaters for breakfast

I recently just bought a carton of eggbeaters (liquid egg whites) from the grocery store. For breakfast I'm gonna start having them in addition to 1 scoop of whey protein shake in water and 1/2 cup of oats.

My question is could I mix 1 cup of egg beaters (24 g protein) with my scoop of whey and lets say...12 oz of water?

And if I do it like this, will mixing the slow acting proteins (liquid egg whites) and fast acting proteins (whey) NOT be a smart idea?

If this is not smart, what are good ways to cook the egg beaters?

And can you get salmonilla from drinking the liquid egg whites in my shake?

there fine to mix, make sure the egg whites are pasteurized, or theres a great risk of getting sick.
I cook my whites in the microwave

Anyone else? I could really use the help.

I was thinking blending 1 scoop of whey and 1 cup of eggbeaters in 12 oz of water. Would I be fine?

If they are pasteurized, then you can drink them "raw". If not, cook them.

does cooking have any affects on 'denaturing' the proteins in the egg whites? if not then why do some BB'ers risk salmonella etc by eating them raw?

if there is some denaturing, is this the case with all sources of protein?

Believe it or not, drinking raw eggs only yields HALF of the absorption, so by cooking them you actaully make more of it bio-available.

BB'ers who drink raw eggs are stuck in the 80's and have no clue WTF they are doing.

Hey Swole, in addition to me eating 1/2 cup of oatmeal, would me blending 1 scoop of whey and 1 cup of eggbeaters in 12 oz of water be a good breakfast?

I don't see anything wrong w/it bro, it would all boil down to your plan of attack, goals, etc.
