are you trying to cut? then the ideal time would be in the am when you 1st wake up on an empty tummy

Yep. Glycogen is depleted and you burn fat stores much quicker. Id go for 45mins at 70% of your Max Heart Rate.

In the am is popular now. I'd say if your gonna do it in the pm, separate it from lifting.

yeah im not really able to get to the gym in the am, so you think its not a good idea to connect the cardio with my lifting

Yes doiing it in the am is the most ideal, but after wights is also affective because your heart rate is up and your glycogen levels are low.

really? after lifting weights and directly going to cardio there is a bigger risk of loosing muscle mass?

You've depleted glycogen stores and risk going catabolic which is def counterproductive in terms of hypertrophy. If you can't get into the gym in the am, go out for a slow jog or bike. Anything to get the heartrate up.

Yes. After training your muscles need replenishments ASAP. If you tag on cardio at the end, your body can breakdown muscle. That said, I was training in the AM and doind 30 minutes of training and then 40 minutes of cardio (all on an empty stomach) and I was able to shed a lot of fat and maintain quite a bit of muscle...might just be how I am put together though...I intend to use that same system when I cut after my current cycle.

Why don't you guys just do cardio before you lift?

Makes sense to throughly warm up your body before a workout, plus there's then no competition for glycogen reserves...

Seriously though, I agree with Priest, but I am curious what the science is behind it...

why would you do cardio before wroking out and deplete your glycogen stores? so you can workout and feed your workout off of your muscles? doesn't sound like a good idea at all. i don't need facts, common sense tells me this is not smart.
