    Overtraining the Abs?

Finished a bulk a few weeks ago and have some belly fat. To be honest, I never did any cardio and hardly any abs.

Right now i am cutting. Doing cardio before I eat breakfast. 40 min on an empty stomach on an elyptical staying around 70-75% HR. I then do 4 sets of 50 crunches on the swiss ball. I do this 6x a week. I also lift weights 4x a week (about 6 hours after cardio). I want to incorporate a few sets of ab workouts with a machine at the gym before I lift (4x a week).

What I want to know.... would this be considered overtraining the abs? I ask only because when I do the swiss ball crunches, I just dont feel that great a burn after I'm done.

Yes, but can I add 4 extra ab sessions a week when I lift?

    Try it and see.

When I first started lifting I did abs about 5xs a week sore or not.
No joke each abb sesion was about 25-30min long, I would avg 6 different excercises at 4 sets of 20-30 reps apiece. overtraining was not the word. More like obsesve compulsive.

But I did get great results that year and now I avg two sessions a week. Because Abbs are so god damn boring to do Ill usually do two exercises at the start about 4 sets apiece. Do one body part, then do 1 or 2 other exercises, do another bodypart and finish off with some floor crunches. breaks up the bordeom and I get shit done.

    My 2 cents.
