    Warming Up Properly

I am trying out H.I.T. and was wondering how to properly warm up for this. With heavy weights of 6 reps, it is probally a pretty good idea to be warmed up. I'll use my chest/shoulder/tri day as an example.

    Bench Press
    Incline DB Press
    Weighted Dips
    Standing Barbell Press
    Standing Side Lateral DB raises
    Skullcrushers
    Pressdowns

How many warm up sets are needed? How many reps are considered warming up? If I was warming up my chest with bench press, my shoulders and triceps should be indirectly warmed up too right? So do I need to warm up shoulders after doing 3 heavy chest exercises that involve the shoulders, and the same goes for triceps?

Warming up is whatever gets you warm and going.

For me, I start off with a 5 min or so jog....then stretch just a little...and do 3 or so sets, usually light weight/high rep for warmups....then fully stretch after that...and bam, Im ready to go.

I normally warm up with 1 maybe 2 light sets around 12 reps which should get the blood pumping.

    Per muscle group?

Do I have to warm up every muscle I am working that day seperatly, or are they getting indirectly warmed up with my basic compound lifts (bench press)

Warm up the muscle you are about to work.

Ex. For chest DB flat bench.

Say 85lbs is your max , then start with say 65 and get 12 reps or so to warm up. Then jump to 75 if you want, then big 85lbs which is your working set.

K, I understand what you mean there. So if I do Chest/Shoulder/Triceps in the same day, I should warm up my chest then go heavy, warm up my shoulders then go heavy, then warm up my triceps then go heavy
