I know what you mean.
But I think it has to do with your CNS not being strong...
Thats bull man even freakin Branch warren talks about heaving his cookies and try tell him his CNS is weak =P It has to do with workload you are placing so much stress on your body your body has a negative reaction like when you do wind sprints till you puke.... you can throwup from doing shoulders if your hardcore with it =P just get used to it..Originally Posted by xlxBigSexyxlx
this has been happening to me more often recently,
ive been doing sets of 15-20 to end of squat workout and about 2 minutes after i finish a WAVE of nauesa comes over me for about 30 minutes...
i like it bc i know im pushing myself to the right points, but it effects the rest of the my workout...i have to lower the intensity and my sets drag out to avoid throwing up all over the place
Yeah baby...the sign of a good leg workout..
Soulstealer has it right. And the solution is, split up legs. It's too much for 1 day if you are doing everything once a week. You can mix upper and lower body stuff, you can have separate days, or whatever. Just don't do hamstring focused lower body exercises and quad focused lower body exercises on the same day. squat+deadlift=almost puke.
Do you guys think you should do as many hamstring excercises as quad excersises?? I remember reading about having an imbalance, but it seems mt quads always get worked better than my hams
How long before your workout is your last meal? You might try eating an apple before you workout.
Ive found this helps, I think you get nauseous because your blood sugar drops.
Yes, ham and quad exercises should be equal to avoid a possible imbalance, which would result in pulling the patella outwards. Quite a pain in the knee in other words.
Not eating for a while before the workout can make nausea worse and happen sooner.
I used to throw up during legs. Back in the day, I trained legs harder (I still train hard) but I think the nausea had something to do with my breathing being out of synch. This is speculative and may be a misatribution but I believe it.

dont forget to breath.
I find if i drink a gatorade or something immediately following squats i am okay while i finish up my work out...
also i make sure to take that damn belt off quickly and only put it on when i am using it..otherwise I feel faint.
how is your breathing?Originally Posted by runninpony
are you
a. breathing in at the top
b. holding your breath on the descent
c. exhale "as soon as you start the ascend"
i find that when doing legs, most problems ie headeaches, nausea, vomiting, blacking out, seeing stars is because step c is done wrong
how is it done wrong? alot of guys dont start exhaling until they are half way up on the ascent. this is where problems are caused. by simply exhaling at the very very very beginning of the ascent, really takes alot of pressure out of the body. i tihnk in many cases this will alleviate the probelm
somtimes highreps alone cause lactic acid buildup, which can cause nausea. but with proper breathing, and proper technique, alot of the nausea can be avoided
