    Onions, Peppers while cutting

    Hey Fellas,
long time lurker, but first time poster..

Quick Q: I am dieting pretty hard and thinking I am probably being a little to strict.. in order to spice up the taste of my eggs can I add onions to it or will the carbs in the onions really deter me from losing weight? Are vegetables that bad for one who is trying to cut fat?

    Thanks very much

Welcome to the board bro. Vegetables are not bad at all, thou I'd stick to green leafy ones. Broccoli, Cauliflower, Lettuce, etc are all good choices. I don't see a problem with using onions, as long as you don't over do it.

    1 Oz Onions, raw:
    Cal: 11
    Fat: 0g
    Sodium: 1mg
    Carb: 3g
    Sugar: 1g
    Pro: 0g

So as you see it's not really bad. Oh I have a question, how do you prepare your eggs(cooked, etc)?

Thanks for the quick response bro!
Yea onions definitely do not seem that bad now that I see what you posted and think about it.. also just to clarify I am not a bodybuilder- I love this sport and it is a lifestyle for me, but I just cannot manage my work and bodybuilding- although I take this VERY seriously and my dedication is superb. I prepare my eggs scrambled. I usually use 6 egg whites and 1-2 whole eggs.

Do you cook them with butter, margarine, pam? 6 whites and 1-2 whole eggs sounds about right.

    You've really gone overboard mate.

    Waaay too strict.

I'm very sure (even in being very strict) that you can add onions/herbs (et. al.) in, while reducing the serving sizes of your primary carb sources...if need be.

    You've overthought this one.
