So whats the over census of a PWO shake?

I hear contrary things. I have always used the 40-50 grams of whey to the 80-100 grams of malto/dextrose.

Then i read some things that maybe this wasnt the best idea, and I definitely do get a bloat from this big time. So i decided to switch to complex carbs and whole foods for my pwo MEAL.

Now, I have just finished watching Milos Sarcev's video's, and even though i knew WHY i was doing the former PWO shake, it makes that much more sense now. Considering I am fully tweaking my diet, I'm curious if I should incorporate this into my diet as my PWO shake. Sucks too because i JUST threw out my dextrose bag 2 days ago. Rumaged through the garbage and didnt find it hahah. Its cool, only a couple bucks anyways.

So I ask, what is everyone's thoughts on this infamous PWO shake?

    Thanks.

pwo shake is one of the most important meals your have in your day... it promotes growth and hypertrophy more then almost anything else (except sleep, i'd say).. what you put in your shake is based upon your bodytype and goals...

i personaly do a 40g protien pre-workout drink with glutamine and all that's needed for a good pump and do 60g pwo with a banana.. that's the way i roll... but my meal afterwords is usually a simple carb like a white bagel or a moderate amount of white rice (teriyaki bowls, gotta love them)...

So do you not recommend the simple carbs in the PWO like dextrose and maltodextrin? I'm torn whether i should start it back up or not.

My PWO usually included BCAA's, Beta alanine, and creatine. The only reason why I stopped was because i figured with sugars like that and the bloat i used to get, i just assumed it wasnt that great for you.

Ok so just to be sure i'm on the same page considering your the only one giving insight haha...you're saying the 40-50g of whey and 80-100g (50/50) of malto/dextrin is fine and beneficial for PWO? Its the only shake i have in my meal (would be anyways if i started back up)

yea, u can do that.. i personly take a more whole foods approach... so i dont use malto/dextrin... i would drop it to 50-60g imo... better yet, eat a white bagel..

well, most of what i'v learned is from phate... he's got the diet thing in check on a diff level then i do...

i learned it when i was having my own diet tweaked by him a while back, got into an debate with the poor guy on why the hell i should add a banana anywhere but pwo... he did a good job of shutting me up.. lmao
