    3 or 4 day split

im currently on a 5 day split becuase ive been off from uni (so more time)

    mon chest
    tue arms
    wed legs
    thurs shoulders
    fri back

should i do a 3 or 4 day split? i would prefer 3 day but i dont think there will be enough time to get all exercises in.

each day takes about 1hour atm

    You could do:

    chest, arms

    legs, abs

    back, shoulder

    chest/arms

    back/shoulders

    both days would take forever

    Chest,shoulders,tri
    Back,bi
    Legs

You dont need much shoulder or triceps work after chest.
I do maybe 8 set for chest,6 for shoulders and 4 on triceps. Takes my 1 hour.

Your best bet with any routine / split is to stick with it for at least a month...review your progress and if your making gains.....keep at it...otherwise fix it.

That's essentially my core workout for 8 months or so out of the year except that I do it in reverse most of the time...

I'll do it about a month, then change reps or exercises, then go back, then take out arms and do them on sat for a fifth day... The key is to keep changing it or you just plateau...
