Question about overall calories burned on a cut.

My tdee is around 2650. Im eating about 2050 calories a day which is 600 calories a day deficit from diet alone. I am doing p90x to try and get as lean as possible by summer. I'm on my 3rd week. I havent noticed much progress, my diet is pretty good ive made posts on the forum and people have helped me out. I was thinking about doing some low intensity cardio 3x a week. Wed, Friday, and Sunday.

My question is in general if i kept a 600 calorie deficit, and started doing additional cardio would i be at risk for muscle loss? Im getting 190g of protein, i weigh about 170lbs. Then if i decided to add even more cardio to say 5x a week, would i be burning strictly fat if i stayed in my fat burning heart rate zone?

Basically is it ever bad to do a lot of cardio even with a diet around 2k cals or is there always the risk of losing muscle?

This is why you should get weekly body comps while dieting. This way you can see if you are losing lean mass, fat or a combination of both. Once you have this information you can make the necessary adjustments. It's entirely possible you could be losing muscle and it's entirely possible you would be dialed in and burning mostly bodyfat. Anyone who gives you a definative answer either way is guessing.

Absolutely. I have a cheap plastic pair and a $200 pair and they always read the exact same.
