Is this alot for a chest day??

I did 20 sets up chest today and some shrugs to finish my workout

Barbell flat bench - 4 sets 6-8 reps
Dumbell flat bench - 4 sets 6-8 reps
Barbell incline bench - 4 sets 6-8 reps
Barbell decline bench - 4 sets 6-8 reps
Machine Pec Flies - 4 sets 8-12 reps
Dumbell Shrugs -5 sets 10-12 reps

Is this alot for a chest day? I'm doing 1 muscle a day routine.
    I'm currently on a Test-E and Deca cycle ...

    Thanx in advance

Really no need to do barbell flat bench then dumbell flat, I would rotate those two each week.

I'm not a big fan of machine pec flies, I prefer to use dumb bells, you can go heavier and I feel you work the muscle better but this is up to you.

Again this is my personal opinion, but I would switch out decline bench with weighted dips.

    Besides that it looks ok

Kool thanx. I've been doing dumbell flies for 6 weeks and wanted to try something diffrent. I was doing flat bech BB for mass and stregnth and flat bench DB for defentition
ooops I forgot to add my dips. So that makes 24 sets of chest

thanx bro for the reply and advice

that's too much for chest. I would stick to 12 sets TOTAL.

    heres a suggested routine:

    incline barbell: 3 sets
    flat dumbell: 3 sets
    decline dumbell: 3sets
cable chest or another incline: 3 sets

    X2 on that ^^

My current chest gig on cycle is
    -

5x5 decline / flat depending on shoulders
    2x12 incline
    2x 12 cable or fly.

once in while I will do a 10x10 for volume

Pec dec flies are nasty on shoulders.

So 20 sets for chest is alot ? Even though I work them out once a week? 12 sets was my normal sets on chest when I wasn't on juice

Is a lot yeah, chest is small compared to back or legs.

I should not tell you not to do it, cause many boys do that kind of volume and get gains from it.

Myself, I would have nothing left in tank after 12 sets at most.

That is 20 work sets right?

You don't need more sets on a cycle, just more intensity. IMO.

Are you gaining size and power?

Yeah def don't go over 16 sets, believe me I know its tempting, but if you keep your intensity high you should have blown your load by then. Oh yeah like energizer bunny just pointed out, shrugs on chest day?? That makes about as much sense as ketchup on a ham sandwich. You're better off doing them on a shoulders or back day, or not doing them at all I think shrugs are overrated. You want big traps, do cleans and deadlifts.

I do 20 work sets of chest once a week, no issues good gains. A full week of recovery you can get away with that.

I am just hitting my stride at 12 or so.

It takes me a bit to get warmed up, but 4 flat bb
    4 incline db
4 weighted dips or db decline
4 pec fly. Change out w a deck or cables. Its a shape thing.
16 not counting warm up sets. I usualy warm up shoulders and a little chest before hittn it.

Kool thanx for all the advice.
I'm gonna do 16-20 sets per chest workout.
    Is 16 good for back
    12 for bi/tri
    12 for shoulders
    16 for legs
    is this good?

Not been a dick, but....you should have a better idea of what works for you before you start a cycling.

How long have you been training?

If that many sets works for you, keep it up...if not, cut back.

Terraj is right stick w it if it works. I'm not tryn to grow much more just fill out...Usualy after first set, if I feel warm and loose I go up 90lb then 50lbs then 20lbs then 10lbs as depending ware u start at and how many sets u want to get in. I don't like going to heavy becuze I like the pump and I wana finnish the set at 6-8 reps w 2 past falure. Some guys just start out heavy which is a whole diffrent aproach. Like 250-300 or whatever 4-5 sets 5-8 reps. What ever weight u can get on your last set completed on. Its all up to u, really what makes you grow??
