    Opinions on forearm exercises

just curious if u believe in working forearms or if u think they get enough work during ur workouts. i used 2 do wrist curls on arm days just as last exercise and i bought havy grips (150,200 &250ib ones) to help increase my grip cause it was bothering me on deadlifts.

saw some strenght gains but no mass gains so have almost given up on working forearms. grip doesnt tourble me anymore so is it really neccesary?

Ive never done any forearm exercises and people still compliment me on them. I think its just doing heavy back exercises without straps. Oh and Im sure curls play a nice part as well

I get comments all the time on my forearms and ive always trained them, there is nothing like steel cables wrapping around your forearms. I use wrist curls, hammer curls and reverse grip curls for my basic building but I do swap and change with various techniques

I think you should train 4arms

I do not think they should be 'trained' as a by product of back training

I think you should wear wraps to train back

    Just my opinion tho

I would definitely use straps when doing deadlifts, when doing deads your using almost every muscle in your body but your hands/wrists tend to give in first which means your larger back and legs muscles are barely getting touched.

I also use straps for most back exercises....

ive never been big on wraps apart from deadlifts. just seems like hastle for lat pulldowns or rows, and my grip never fails b4 my back anyway. gonna put wrist curls and reverse curls in with arm day i think and i use heavy grips wen im just in my room trying 2 study. thanks base!

im always geting bitched at by trainers in my gym for dropping the bar wen my grip starts 2 go on deads! usually just use chalk. gonna invest in new pair of straps i think :P lost my old ones. and i wasnt big on using straps for other exercises wen i had them. t-bars maybe, but pulldowns and low row i dont see the need. i only deadlift about 240ib but pulldown is only about 140ibs so i dont see the need for wraps with tht weight. thanks matt!

Dead lifts will add the most size to your forearms. If you want to completely blow your forearms out, do some plate pinches til you want to cry, they will help your grip too.
