$500 is $500. With the right amount of sponsorship it could grow. But the 25% rule pretty much rules out no one, except women. Both my parents are half white, which makes me half white, right? So should I be able to collect this scholarship? My daughter doesn't look black...at all...but she was eligible for a blackcentric scholarship and many blacks complained.

There is not WET and cannot be confused with CMTV. There would be no reference to 'white' because that would be deemed racist and bigoted - more by my actual race than yours out of fear of being deemed racist I guess. That is the whole point of me even mentioning BET because the 'B' stands for black. I think the name in itself signifies everything. I could care less who watches it and you can throw up whatever numbers you imagined in your head to prove your point, but your leading down a different path.

I made no mention of scholarships, you did. I was mentioning the quotas that need to be filled in ivy level colleges and employment positions based by race, not their qualifications. Your other comment on capitalism - bravo! There is nothing wrong with variety, but in looking closer at the channels, I wonder how some even get funding. Look at the cable bill sometime and the packages we are forced to purchase. You know, you get HD Super extreme supremo deluxe with 365 channels - or the broke dick package with 65 channels. Each package has 'fillers' like hsn, mystery, hallmark, logo.. I don't know the statistics and won't pretend to know to prove a point, but allot of channels out there just have to be fillers for the bigger names. I was a Fios technician for 5 years (I could tell you stories) and it seemed like over and over the most people watched were the main locals, some sports, discovery, nick, history, news, and tlc. I know I am missing some obvious heavy hitters, but you kinda get my point. Everyone here has to pass over 95% of the garbage unless you have your favs setup. But I digress, my point is that capitalism setup a way for the main populace to pay for the niche products that the few enjoy - and they benefit by showcasing that they have x more than the competitor.

I just want the playing field to be leveled in some areas and stop bringing emphasis of one race over another - it further degrades everyone when others are seen getting perks by the rest. I totally agree with Morgan Freeman, but that is a pie in the sky idea. Race will always be a factor. There is no way around that. As for you comment about quotas in Ivy league schools and jobs, we can discuss affirmative action and their effectiveness all day and let me assure you they don't bode well for minorities. Like I stated above, no one wants an emphasis on race, but as long as race is a primary identifying characteristic and used in statistics by governments (income, crime, education, etc.) its going to continue to have an emphasis. Also as long as we have people (black, white, brown, yellow), that use race as a justification for superiority (in any endeavor) it going to be an issue. Let's face it, people of different races ARE different, whether culturally or biologically, and until the gene pool mixes to the point where those cultural and biological differences are eliminated, an emphasis on race will always exist.
