I'm wondering , do squats and bent knee deads work the same muscles? Yes and No. Both work the legs, butt, and lower back in different ways. Legs are hit harder with squats. Deads also work the upper back. You should do both. Should I be doing bent knee deads instead of straight leg? You should do bothI dont want to over train , but I guess I'm not sure about what muscles Im actually working . Im thinking the extensions and curls are minor compared to the main squats and deads. Extensions and curls work your Quads and Hams through a much more complete range of motion than squats and deads, but squats and deads work other muscles that extensions and curls don't. You need to do all of it for best results.I see some huge dudes doing deads alot , but dont see them squating.They must be powerlifters, not bodybuilders.
