    How long do you guys stay sore?

    Ive been training hard daily for a couple of years now and I still get incredibly sore sometimes. My chest is the worst and can stay sore for a week or longer. A lot of my other muscles get pretty sore as well. My roomate/workout partner never gets sore and has grown a lot faster than me. Is this normal and how long do you guys stay sore?

    FYI I usually train 9-15 sets (chest 9 back 15 etc) usually 7-10 reps. I started incorporating rest days because i was having overtraining injuries but i did that awhile ago and the soreness is still the same

    On a lot of gear I never really get sore, maybe slightly for a day no matter how hard I train. Off gear maybe a day.

    off gear but bulking up: legs/lower back - up to a week
    chest - 2-3 days
    arms/shoulders/back - almost never

    I think a lot of it depends on your pwo nutrition

    Sore for a few days is normal but that long is bc of poor diet nutrition. If u aren't taking in the cals and proper nutrients ur body can't recover. The last few weeks before a show I get really sore and it lasts a while- that is bc I'm in a severe deficit of calories and not recovering. U need to work on ur diet- go over the the nutrition section and post up ur diet they will help u out

    My back and traps is normally sore for 3 days minimum but can go upto 5 days.

    Legs between 2-4

    tris - usually 2

    biceps and shoulders - usually 1

    If I haven't squatted for a while (back injury) then that exercise can cause my legs to be sore for over a week. Other than that it's just chest and triceps that get sore and that is for 3 days or so.

    As well as nutrition and training frequency I think it also depends on your genetics and your fast/slow twitch muscle fibre makeup.
