Right now my heart rate is around 170-185 while on the treadmill, I didn't know if there was a certain percentage that burns the most fat or what
The simplest way is to subtract your age from 220. So if you’re 30 years old, your max heart rate is around 190 beats per minute. Generally, the fat burning zone is thought to be between 60-65% of your max heart rate. Therefore, the fat burning heart rate zone for a 30 year old would be between 114 and 124bpm.
Wow this is great I was about to ask the same question
Unfortunately the "fat burning zone" doesnt apply in regards to HIT training. All the "Fat Burning Zone" is an estimated equation of what level of exertion your body will use bodyfat as an energy source in the highest ratio. You will burn more bodyfat working beyond the "Fat Burning Zone" in terms of HR all other things equal.
