    5*5 then 3*3

What do people think about this regime of sets reps......, instead of just doing the traditional 5*5, what if after the 5*5 you went to 3*3 with heavier weight.

    For example my deadlifts I go;

    Warmups
    8*135
    6* 185
    5*225
    5*245

    Working set

    5*255
    5*255
    5*255
    5*255
    5*255
    3*285
    3*285
    3*285

    Thoughts?

It seems like a bit of overkill to me to be honest. I'd personally keep warm ups to 1-2 light sets with 10-15 range then working sets 4-5 with maybe a 5,5,5,3,3 count.

man, i once had a max of 150kg's, im now a national record holder

takes time, keep pegging away at it

def dont train deads in so many reps though mate, it aint a prolonged rep intensive exercise, try following my pyramid plan for a bit and adding 2.5kg every 2wks to the set

And oh, only dead every 2wks or you go stale in no time! And keep squats at the opposite end of the training week
