    Recommendations On A Belt

I've never, ever trained using a belt, but at 39, it just feels like it's time. I'd like to continue lifting heavy, but feel I need that bit of extra support/protection.

Hoping you guys can recommend a few belts to look into ... I don't need anything fancy or majorly hardcore ... hoping it'll be something I can easily pick up from Sport's Authority or Dick's (Valeo?).

    GO!!!!

I just bought this one because had it recommended by some serious lifters and seeing that there is a sale and free shipping sounds cheap for quality so will see how I go

Yes. It's probably 25 years old now and still good as new.

Belts don't really do that much for protection, it's more for internal pressure and core stabilization (helping you lift more) which indirectly protects your spine a little. The real damage usually happens when lumbar flexion occurs and a belt isn't going to help with that (much).

Schiek make very good belts, high quality, worn by many pros, it depends on what your doing, if your doing more power lifting or strength work a thicker belt might be a better option but these belts can be costly.

I've got a Bob's belt at least 25 years old too. Yes they are a little pricey but the quality is top notch and it'll last forever. You won't be disappointed.

I use a Cardillo belt and it's awesome. Been using the same one for years and it's still brand new
