    Include Fiber in Macros?

So, I have to work out of town soon and I picked up some Quest Bars in case I run into a bind for meals while I'm away. I was looking at the nutritional data on the wrapper, and each bar has 20 grams of carbs, 14 of which come from fiber.

Since human beings lack the enzymes to process fiber, would you include the calories from fiber in your daily macro intake? Just curious.

Technically you do absorb some of it but it is fairly minuscule. I generally do not count it and it has never made a lick of a difference for me personally or anyone else I have helped out.

About 1.3kcal/gram from fatty acids production from the gut bacteria when they metabolize the cellulose in fiber.
