    Cold water treatment

    Hey guys not sure what thread this would go in, but does anyone know anything about cold water treatment, I regularly do atleast 1minute of ice cold water treatment a day for the feeling good aspect afterwards when my body comes out of shock, but is this good or bad for muscles? TIA

    Like anything that has an anti inflammatory effect, it’s been shown in laboratory settings to reduce training adaptations. How much this actually matters in the real world though: you’d probably never notice the difference. If it makes you feel better and helps your recovery, I’d say keep it in.

    This is my preferred method, though I’ll usually do contrasts. 30 seconds all the way hot and 30 seconds all the way cold, alternating for a few minutes at the end of my normal shower.

    They say shivering for a few minutes a day stimulates brown fat. And helps boost metabolism

    Well, do 45 sec warm then switch to 45 sec of cold, repeat for 6 - 8 times. In my opinion that should help a lot.
