So this happened today…

Was doing my TRT shot yesterday (200 mgs per week/1 ML) and was at the end of my vial. Called the pharmacy and they stated I had two weeks left and they wouldn’t refill it without approval from my doc. Apparently I was a little careless in going past the 1 ML mark and also probably some loss from filling with a 18G harpoon.

So I text my doc, explain the situation and ask if he can call it in and maybe raise it to 1.5 cc’s to give me some room for error.

He replies, “wouldn’t 2 ML’s be easier”?

Ummmmm, yes.

Pharmacist calls me yesterday and says that they called it in for me, but she thinks it’s a mistake. I asked why and she said it’s for 2 ML’s a week now. Sorry lady, that’s correct. Picked up two 10 ML vials today for 50$. Hallelujah

He’s become a friend of the years. He’s the sports medicine doc for the university where I played some ball years ago and he’s seen me for a bunch of neck and back shit over the years. After I dealt with my cancer stuff, I was pretty open with him and the last time I was in…it came up.

He put me back on pharma grade (I was self administering ugl) and pretty much let me drive the ship. I have to assume that’s why he’s being so easy about it. Dudes not an idiot and knows I’ll just go the ugl route. He was telling me stories about some buddies of his that go down to spring training in FL and write test rx’s for athletes as a side hustle. What a world

Maybe take the same angle around having the “buffer”? The truth is that some oil is always lost and that you’re coming up a short. Worth a shot, especially if he’s a friend. Mine didn’t even bat an eye and friend or not, he wouldn’t put his license at risk for me.

How far are you asking this guy to extend himself? It’s not the “legality” of the matter, but his ethics as a medical professional and the idea to do no harm? Even medical practitioners are susceptible to a lapse in judgment due to friendship. Slippery slope.

Totally correct. I wouldn't expect him to write a ridiculous amount but we'll discuss all scenarios and try to find a middle ground that works for all. I'll see him this Tuesday so I'll post up how it goes. My script is 200 per week, of which I normally run 160. If I were written maybe 300 per week I could easily bank what i need for future runs. Especially as with test I won't go over about 3-400 per week any more anyway.

What I should have simply said is that it is truly a fortunate thing to have a great relationship with your physician and one that you can be completely honest with. I lucked into one about 4 years ago. Currently I’m scripted for 150/wk. I’m also scripted viagra and finasteride. Everything is dirt cheap and delivered to my door. It’s great landing with a understanding physician.

It's not exactly "extending himself," if he's just prescribing a little extra to cover the losses that occur in drawing the gear to a syringe. Besides, I honestly don't believe they put precisely 10ml in those 10ml vials every time. Sometimes they short you.

Not going to disagree with your point. I was just coming at it from an angle of the doctor possibly getting dinged if they do a random medical review. As I posted to Kel, very happy that he & others (myself included) are fortunate to have great and understanding doctors.

Not to detour from the thread, we were away for a few days and I had mistimed some deliveries. For 1-2 days we had Amazon packages, my prescription meds (including my 3 month supply of testosterone) and another large delivery sitting untouched, clear as day, in front of our front door. We came back Wednesday evening, saw that and couldn’t believe our luck.

I'm doing alright, hope you are too (from the fact your Amazon package was still there, I'll assume you are). I'm a fan of SoCal weather year round. Even when it's hot in the summer, it's not unbearable and there isn't humidity either. But yeah, I really enjoy the fall/winter weather here.

Remember doctors work for you, you are the consumer and they are the merchant. Go elsewhere if you are unhappy with the service. I get that they are over regulated but as long as things are somewhat reasonably justified anything is possible.

I sort of started doing this Several years ago and also stretching out between my injections a little longer than most people as well as not stopping me RX refills during my off time due to surgery or when I was doing the fertility thing for a few months. You could say Ive built up a nice little cushion just in case for a few months and months....

So, saw my Uro on Tuesday and had the discussion with him. Had zero issues upping the dose to 300 from 200 per week. He said the only one that would complain would be a pharmacist (he added usually female ones) but he can handle that as it's really none of their concern. Basic premise was to avoid ugl gear as I don't run more than 3-400 test anymore anyway. He said I should have asked him sooner......shit.
