if you take a week, make sure it's in preparation for some hardcore lifting when you go back. i usually rest a week before starting my cycle, that's it
excess/ PL, this kinda stuff just comes to me guys.i just try to make everyone have a good time.
anyway, flex i used to take off a week every 4 months, just to give everything a break sometimes.never impeded any progress and i actually came back well rested and stronger in the following weeks.
It is always good to take some additional time off every few months. It gives your body time to rest and usually you come back harder than before. Just don't let it go for too long. You do more damage than good when you over work yourself, more is not always better. Listen to your body.
Train smart,
Capital X
I agree Captain (Yo Dane, I'm back to pester you man). I unfortunately have been off for about 3 months now no working out and yes, I gained some weight back, I was down to 7% DF, now I am about 10-12%. No biggie, but my body feels good and now I am ready to start back. Just in time for New years. Of course, I got swamped at work, and had no choice. But I recommend it, even though most don't. But I personally think it is okay to do some intense training and taking a month off, but if you are taking more time off than working out, well you know what that means.... I needn't have to say.
you need not worry about time off as much as you think if it's not months and months of consecutive detraining.your muscles have memory and they can regenerate to past volume faster than you may think.thats' a reason why i think site injection is important(for people who use gear).although it's only an inflammation of the site, you are causing your muscle fibers to expand w/ the inflammation. thats' why if you take off you months, but you frequently injected say delts; when you train them again, your delts say, "wow, i remember having more volume" and respond by growing to the previous size more rapidly.just my opinion on the whole thing
