Seated cable rows work different part of the back than one arm dumbell rows?

Do seated cable rows work a different part of the back than one arm dumbell rows?

I feel that seated cable rows work more of the middle back and lower back while one arm dumbell rows work more of the upper back.

    Do you guys agree?

What handle do you use on your seated rows and where do you pull it to?

What grip do you use with your db rows and where do you pull the db to?

This questions will alter your recruitment.

I do seated cable rows with a v-bar pulling to under my belly button. When doing one arm dumbell rows, I bend over and pull the dumbell straight up.

Is your elbow close to your body, on the dumbbell rows or out a 90 degree angle?

    Close to my body.

Without seeing your exercise technique, in the manner which you have described them, you are working the same area of the back. If you keep your elbow out, while doing DB Rows, the stress would be more in the upper back area.

i think they hit similar areas of the back, it really all depends on the grip and where your bringin the bar (what ever one it is) to. since your hittin the same area why not try seated cable rows with a wide bar, and bring it to your pecs, this will hit a higher, wider area of the back.
