    Milk and Squats

Has anyone tried the drinking a gallon of milk a day thing? I tried it for the first month of my cycle and got great results.. partly because of other things too of course.

Yea, it's not the fats i'm worried about, it's the sugar! Whole and skim have the same sugar content.

    Milk raises IGF-1.

Natural sugars in milk and fruits are not the enemy due to them not being refined and also being surrounded by protien fibre ect to bluntin insulin spikes..

However we all know that Insulin in an anabolic hormone we want high to grow muscle..

Does the milk work on Chest day too? I like 1% Chocolate milk at times, but there is just too much sugar in milk for me to drink that quantity, depends on your goals of course.

    1 8 oz glass of 2% milk=

I drink Whole Milk like a beast when bulking - Works wonders for me.
Mark Ripptoe suggests is as well for his starting strength program.

Depends on your goals. Can't say milk is good or bad. Just depends. For example when bulking I might use it in my protein shakes to get extra calories. When cutting I try to avoid it except for my morning coffee or unless I am out of cottage cheese so I use it before bed in a shake.

This is a tried and true formula for bulking for most strength athletes (powerlifters/strongmen/oly lifters). Rippetoe also suggested if for young athletes to put on weight. I have my sons doing it (14 and 16). My 14 yr old is a hard gainer at 5'10 155lbs, my 16 yr old was the same way before I started him on this. He started at the same measurements at 14 and now at 16, he's 6'2 215lbs, highly recruited safety/linebacker. But it definitely works if you want the weight minus the cuts.

we are talking about the 'Milk and Squatt's' program here also known as the '20 Rep Squatt's' program.

The reason 1 gallon of milk is added to a diet is to simply add over 2000 cals to a basic diet.

This is one way to ensure that you will grow / gain weight
