Diuretics are one of the most dangerous drugs/supps in bodybuilding when not used correctly. Even when used correctly they still can be potentially harmful. I can name at least 3 ways safer and as effective way to shed water weight in a short time frame. Off of the top of my head some suggestions are high intake of water, nolva, sodium cycling. Actually all said and done it sounds like this guy knows what he's doing. Stick with the good diet, lots of cardio, and intense weight training. If she trully stalls losing weight and making progress naturally...then consider using maybe clen, t-3 to get her past the road block.
