i think a lot of people need to have them to fill that 'void' in their middle adulthood lives. I personally dont see the benefits, the stress, money and obligations seem to far outweight the benefits. I'll stick to having a dog, they suit the bill a lot better than a kid for me.

That and i like my toys.
