If this is right then all you shold need to do is open up the ipod folder, should be under "my music/ iPod" then there shoudl be a few files in there, one shoudl be labeled something like iPod music (i woudl imagine this contains all yoru current MP3's) when you find that folder with all the MP3's in you just need to tranfer all your copied songs there.

If i was you i would put them in a new folder before hand i.e (friends music) you can do this on your desk top or something, what ever is easiest. Once you have done that you can drag and drop the folder (freinds music) to the ipod folder containing all your MP3 on your ipod.

Then finally you need to update your ipod, so just open itunes then drag and drop the folder (freinds music) to your libary, this will add them to it. Next time you connect your ipod they will sync.

You can import with ituens but this is much faster if you have shed loads of songs.
Wrong. Dumping them into the itunes music folder on the HD will not auto add them into itunes. You need to copy them into itunes.
