Because there's too much of the Universe for it to have been the work of just one god. It's obvious that if the Universe didn't happen all by itself through processes that we humans do not yet understand, then it had to have taken at least as many gods to create everything as there are Congressmen in Washington, DC.

    That much is obvious.

Bingo !!!! We must be brothers (God I hope not) if there is one that is

i got a question for the people who believe in "theory of evolution" I understand that humans evolved an all that and the big bang theory stuff (which sounds bogus to me). Referring again to the big bang theory, everything started as one huge rock in space right and grew bigger and bigger then bang! But how did that get there in the first place and Where did space come from???? How big is it?

I can't say that I beleive in anything, but Determinism makes a lot of sense to me.

    http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/04756c.htm

The Catholic Church gives it a pretty good write-up, because it makes a lot of sense to their theologians too, but they can't bring themselves to overtly endorse it, because in their words:

The notions of responsibility, moralobligation, merit, and the like, as ordinarily understood, would be illusory if Determinism were true.

Come on BIGSEXY, how could you think this wasn't going to start a big argument? This will last for a few days, I think at least one person will get banned before the weekend is over.

there are some very interesting posts here and i enjoy reading everyone's opinions

Now this is my kind of thread. You know what the greatest common denominator is of those who don't believe in God within this thread? They attempt to talk about why they don't believe in God and then attempt to convince others as to why they don't believe. The fact of the matter is that all of you that don't believe will have to use your current alibi one day towards something that is far greater than yourself. And I challenge you all to stick to your story when that time comes because He'll be the only one listening. (and already is)

Do you really believe that God sits somewhere and listens to everyone's excuses? Nothing implied, I'm just curious...

    Not at all.
Here's an excerpt from my post above:
    .................................................. .....................................
I can't say that I beleive in anything, but Determinism makes a lot of sense to me. http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/04756c.htm

You don't really say anything at all in this paragraph, do you? Sounds like only a few vague threats of doom and FEAR to motivate people to beleive in a cruel and vengeful god. "Turn or Burn."
Well, tell me this: you say that since I don't beleive, I'll "have to use my current alibi one day towards something that is far greater than myself." Tell me, if you would be so kind, just exactly WTF you are talking about? Who is this Evil Boogieman that is patiently awaiting its opportunity to Torment and Torture the vast majority of humans who have ever existed on the face of this planet with unspeakable torment? And why would anyone want to worship such a vile, malignant, pestilant and sadistic blight on the universe?

Obviously, you will too for wishing the worst on your fellow man. Relax with the certainty on your own personal beliefs. No one knows what is going on out there, even if they claim to be one hundred percent certain. Often, when you even talk to people like that, you see that they are deeply flawed. Anyone with wisdom can find and locate flaws in people, ie, eye contact, etc. I personally grew up Catholic. I was raised very properly in terms of parents who tried to instill a solid religious path into my life. I went to church every sunday until eighth grade. After that, not much, until trials and tribulations in the worst part of my life. Bottom line, I did not like what I found out. IMO, if you are going through hard times, take it into your own hands, don't rely on anything, because it may not exist. In the end, I guess, I think there are very good odds that God may exist. There are also, obviously, very good odds that God may not be a Muslim God, a Christian God, or give the first two sh*ts about you or me. I try to live my life as brave and bold as I can, with all this in mind.

Of course Agnosticism is a belief system, as is atheism along with every other "ism" out there..... But I did not invent it.

I don’t understand this logan. You say you believe in god and I respect that by not challenging your beliefs. So why would you have such a need to challenge others?

?? I read the whole thread genius. BTW LOL, you outta make it to church at least once. How can you comment like this before at least trying to kneel before God, drink his blood, eat his body, sing his songs, and sing praise to Him. Geez! You should dig in a bit before you offer your worldly advice. I speak with sarcasm, because I don't understand your above post. I read everything. I think you should stop arguing. If you don't I probably will so you'll be satisfied, as Lord knows I haven't even looked at one of my previous threads where's someone really pissed me off.
