Ibanez has a GX 70 for under $200, you can get an acoustic for about $100, probably less for a used one. There is no magic pill that can make you play well fast....takes a shiitload of practice and it doesn't hurt if you've got rythum and a good ear for music. My friend has been playing for 2 years and it breaks my heart, but he just can't get it. I think the younger you start the better. There's alot of video lessons on youtube. Who knows you may be the next Yngwie Malmsteen.

buy a cheap guitar. acoustic is good to learn on. then when you switch to electric it will seem easier to play. you have to love guitar to be good at it. example; dated a girl who took lessons, she sucked balls. otherhand i loved guitar, played hours a day, taught myself and could play circles around her. try and find easy songs you actually like and try downloading the tablature online.

just to re-iterate. You DO NOT have to spend tons of money. I always prided myself on my skills being better than my spoiled-rich kid friends, with my pawn shop piece of garbage.

And no, I thought you played the male organ, not the skin flute.

Once you have a cheap but adequate guitar, comes the next step. What kind of musical learner are you? Ear, or Eye. If you can repeat to yourself in your head exactly what you hear, then just jam out to your favorite music. If you are an eye learner, time to get a book (or lessons if you have money).

I was a band nerd and pick things up by ear. When I started to play, I just kinda slowly figured out songs I liked. Real easy like (smoke on the water riff from beavis and butthead fame). Basicly any of the crap Beavis and butthead used to repeat to each other. EArache in my eye riff. Ironman riff. Next thing you know you can play metallica or nirvana. Then........Kajagoogoo.

    oh wait.........more help.

Next step for you is to actually google "bar chords". Thats the easy ass way of playing chords. (im assuming you are a noob, if not ignore me).

But on an acoustic, you need to look up a chords chart with the fingerings. I have a book that I learned on from like 1952. Just memorize 1 at a time. The real chords sound way better than a bar chord. a bar chord is only 3 to 4 notes. a real chord plays all the strings. There a infinite numbers of them, so when you learn most of the Major chords, time to move on to the minor ones.

I was never an acoustic fan, so Im guessing chords and songbooks is the way you want to go. Find a songbook. NOW. And these days, you can probably download any of these books I would have had to buy when I was 13ish
