How do you know if you injected deep enough ?

I use 1" for quads and leave the needle out about a 1/4 inch. I would think if the injection was not deep enough that the compound would leave a lump under your skin at the injection site and eventually dissipate. Soreness won't tell you anything and bleeding can happen with any shot.

there is no lump and I didn't see anything exit my skin, so does that most likely mean it was absorbed ?
