Job Interview Attire

Im thinking khaki pants, red or blue shirt???, brown shoes, brown belt.
brown socks I suppose. What about an undershirt?


Help? Suggestions? I've never had a real job that I had to try to get. Basically through connections and such. But I do want to impress, just a suit might be over doing it in my case.

Depending on the job, but normally you would want to stay away from a red shirt. Blue or Charcoal are usually the best colors for your shirt, with black pants, black socks and black shoes. Obviously you will want to pick a complimenting tie, nothing too busy though.

^^^Agreed. Once again, depending on the job you are applying for. But usually, in a big business professional setting, khakis are looked as too casual.

Common, but professional looking... it shows you know how to come to an interview. If you go with a blue shirt, then some good tie colors would be Red (not too bright), White, a flat Black, or a Blue and Red thick striped tie. Undershirt should be white or gray.

Personally, I would go with a darker blue shirt. With a lighter blue shirt like that, your options kinda change with the tie, White would be your best bet with that shirt.

Always go one step above of what the regular dress code is there. If they don't wear ties, wear a tie. If wearing a tie is standard, wear a suit. So like most people are saying, it depends on the company, so make sure you are one step above what the norm is.

Well it turns out I probably won't take the job.


After talking with my professors and the work load I have school wise, it would be very hard juggling both and managing all A's.

And at this point in my life, school comes first.


I'm still debating but it looks like I'm gonna have to call the guy and call off the interview.

Depends. What type of job/company is it? Personally Id rather overdress versus under dress. Usually dress pants and a nice dress shirt works for me. No tie and I some times just put on the suit jacket, again no tie. For a really professional job, its a suit and tie for sure.

Go to Brookes Brothers if you have the cash.

Walk in, tell one of the guys standing around in a suit that you need an alfit for the specific job you're appying for.
These dudes are wikid good with this type of crap.

You may wind up spending $80 for a shirt, and another $100 for some pants (for something cheap lol) but you can never go wrong with Brookes.
And yeh for the job your going for its prob not even neccessary.

But anytime I go in there their service and knowledge is crazy.

My recommendation:

Buy a Roberto Cavalli suit
Ermenegildo Zegna silk tie
Klauss Boehler dress shirt. (Nice crisp shirts)
Burberry belt
Prada or Gucci shoes.

NB: Make sure that the tie, belt and shoes have some design or color in common. That all is tapered and fitted somewhat.

After the interview, wink at the hottest girls at the work place, undo your tie and graciously and invite then to a cigar lounge. Pop a bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne and as a gentleman sip it with the girls.

Then the fun commences.

Here's my suggestion:
Go for Diesel and Fred Perry. That's what I was wearing for my first job interview while at uni. Had no clue what the job was or anything but it fits for anything. And that was a staple while at work too. Except when I had a campaing or some überformal stuff then suit was mandatory and Hugo Boss and Zegna did great.

^^^ Hugo Boss and Ermenegildo Zegna suits are great. The quality of Zegna suits are really good but they are quite small. Boss suits quality has gone down but remain at a decent price.

Oh, in that case just wear a lab coat, pocket protector, dont forget ur spectacles. HAha, j/k bro. Shirt and tie attire, go with a rich dark blue. WOrks for, always get compliments after the interview, then i get the job.
