115 in my lifted 99 dodge ram. Almost hit a deer. It was on this back country road by my house. Pretty scary at 115, cant imagine faster than that

the speedo issue is so true. that's why we use calibrated radar.
I love the Pantera's the engines are great the styling is mad and it's Italian what more do you want.

I have my own piece of Italian madness in my avatar. Nothing as exotic as a De Tomaso but I like it.

We use GPS over here to work out top speeds. It was according to that, that I got the speed for the GTR at the weekend.

I topped my Huffy out at 35mph once. It was an amazing rush. You should have seen the hill.

that's weird, my g35 is stable as can be all the way up. corners like a dream even in triple digits.

what did you have in that probe, a ford 351? wait wait, did you launch it from a cannon? i wouldn't think the wheels would stay on a probe past 85mph. lol

GSXR going 150. At that speed you can hardly feel the ground which freaked me out a bit.

    p.s

I would never speed in a car as i feel i have more control on a bike, odd i know.

That is a strange one suppose it depends on the car and the way it is at the top end. Most of the cars I have been where fairly calm at a decent speed. Even my tiny engined Alfa at 6500rpm at 125mph was fairly composed lol.

I had a eagle talon AWD turbo and use to street race. People would always ask me how fast i ever got it and i use to shrug it off cause i was always a 1/4 mile guy and more interested in quickness over speed. Well one day i took her out late and floored it on the highway. For some reason it just freaked me out and i backed off. One for safety and another for fear of cops. Don't know what it is but when i am on a bike i feel 100% in control which can be a bad thing, on comes the wheelies !

but im sure the type of car plays a huge part.

Was it running standard suspension?? What 1/4 mile times where you getting auto or manual??

At high speed in a car you don't want to jerk anything or doing anything quickly like steering or coming off the accelerator etc. But I presume you know that with your racing experince. The 170 was in England and where you can't be done cos we had Irish licences bahahaha

Yes , standard susp. I never taken it to the track just street. I regret not doing it. That little 4 banger was the dream car of my life. I have taken many of V8's with it. The look on their face was priceless.

Off top of my head had (years ago):
3' straight through exhaust (no cat) with dump tube, upgraded BIG 16G turbo, 550 injectors, upgraded FP, piggy back fuel system, K&N, plugs, wires, normally running 20-23 PSI.

Taking off at the line would give you whiplash. While the big V8's are spinning at the line i am half way down the street

Ill try and find pics of her

That's serious boost to be running ya lunatic. Nearly 2 bar of boost nice

Well for 1/4 mile you don't really need a trick set up as the suspsension will soak up some of the force and let the tyres grip from the compression of the launch which helps.

Yup, tracking was never a problem for me with that car (AWD). Now going through clutches, that was a different story

I was waiting for the clutch comment. AWD's wreck them on full bore take off and the reeeeecccccckkkkkk of clutch off the car is obscene too. Filthy smell, just like gearbox oil. God dam that is filth.

Lol, Z06's are cool LS1's one of the best V8's ever made ever. The new ones are only like 30kg's more than a heap of a Nissan 2 litre 4 cylinder turbo engine the SR20DET.

did he do an engine swap? i didn't think a probe 4 banger would hold much boost or that anyone even made a kit for it.
