Believe it or not, it could be from just the arm muscles growing and pressing against the ulnar nerve.
Be careful you're not doing anything with repetitive motion that could cause carpal tunnel. Move the arm around and it should be OK.
Can't hurt to check blood pressure, especially if you're retaining water.
