Don't care, and I live in CT.

Not sure exactly what the difference is between a civil union and marriage. Maybe you can clear that up for me?

I thought civil unions gave all the rights of marriage (legal). I could be wrong as it isn't a priority in my life to worry about, not being gay myself.

I live in CT also, and have no problem with it. As long as it is 2 people who are genuinely in love and not just two friends looking for the tax breaks and insurance coverage.

The only real difference is the name. For whatever reason, people get worked up over calling it "marriage."

Anti-gay marriage folks seem to think that if 2 guys get married, it's going to have a negative effect on their own marriage. But for all the thousands of gay marriages that have been conducted in the US, have any of those people ever filed for divorce because of gay marriage? Or have they sought counseling because "Adam and Steve" got hitched in San Francisco?
Nope. Not that I know of, anyway.

It's all just generic anti-gay BS inspired by fundamentalist interpretations of religion. Those folks are entitled to their religious beleifs, but they are not entitled to force their religious beleifs on other people. They seem to think they are, though. And that's what drives the whole controversy. It's not so much a question of "Should gays marry?" as much as it is, "Can we make religious doctrine into civil and criminal law?"
