i used to get that pain for a long time when i first started getting back into running. everytime i would run my feet and my shins and calves would kill me. then i got sick and took a week off and after that my feet and calves/shins are fine. i think they needed that week off to repair themselves. oh i started at 280 and am at 245 now so i know your pain. but imo you do build muscle in those areas due to the extra weight.
