the sleep clinic that i mention asks for a referral...DEMANDS RATHER...whether you're paying cash or insurance??? than i cant figure....shouldnt i be able to see the specialist directly? i shouldnt need a finger in the arse by my family doc first

Hmm, dunno why that is. And yeah, if you have a legit problem, you should be able to just call the doc's office and get the referral, not have to go in if it isn't an insurance issue.
