Stating cold and simple facts of WW II atrocities makes an idiot, you read a book, I can tell youve been watching too much of that liberal tv. Get this, theres more Russians in US than Jews, And Nazi's killed more Russians than Jews. We never hear about the poor Russians the jewish holocaust made up 4% of WW II deaths....The Us is so pro Israel its disgusting look at the headlines making Hamas out to be the monsters. Look at the death tolls, Israel has killed 50 X Hamas than vice-versa. Why should they have deserved Israel in the first place? I am going to first say something general, and then I am going to deal with one particular post, God-Willing.

The general comment I'd like to make is that we as human beings--not necessarily as Jews, Christians, Muslims, atheists, etc--but just as human beings--should feel empathy for the oppressed, no matter what skin color, religion, or whatever a people are. This means that we should feel empathy for:

1. The Jews that died in the Holocaust.
2. The Russians and Chinese that died in WWII.
3. The Palestinians being killed and oppressed today.

The problem arises when a person only focuses on one or two of those three, and ignores/downplays/denies the other one. So you will find that an anti-Semite will deny the Holocaust, whereas an ardent Zionist would deny the Palestinian suffering.

I believe that you stated in another thread that you are Jewish, and I am assuming from this post you are a Zionist or pro-Israeli. What I'll say is this: you are furthering two contradictory arguments. The very BASIS of the creation of Israel is a claim based in history--an event that happened THOUSANDS of years ago. This was the very justification used to destroy Palestine and replace it with Israel. Yet on the other hand you are saying that we should forget what happened just fifty years ago! You are now arguing that it is absurd to "take it back" fifty years ago, which by the way, means when the Palestinian elderly were children. (It's not even a generation back--it's the *same* generation.)

My point is: why is it ok for you "to take it back" THOUSANDS of years to justify the creation of Israel, yet it is absurd to even speak about the recent past when it supports the Palestinian cause? It seems that you want to just brush everything under the rug if it does not support the Zionist agenda. "Israel stole land some fifty or sixty years ago? So what? That's ancient history! Oh yeah, Palestine belongs to us because we had it thousands of years ago."

Most neutral people--who are properly educated on the facts--would say that it is indeed absurd to base a claim on what happened THOUSANDS of years ago, but it's just common sense to discuss what happened in the very recent past. (The bias of the Zionists is made clear when they flip common sense on its head and say "oh yeah it's absurd to talk about what just happened...but oh yeah let's discuss what happened THOUSANDS of years ago.")

On another note: I don't think you can study *any* conflict without at least knowing what happened to that region in the recent past, and that's something that really bothers me when people support invasions of countries without even knowing the very recent history of that peoples. And I give the example of Iraq, which I've discussed in my "Ask the Muslim" thread.

I go back to my original point: we need to be balanced and fair to understand the situation.
