I have never had this happen to me personally so out of curiousity, how often does this happen? Can you get in any real trouble if it happens to you?

Depends if you are importing several vials, probably not, some people have gotten 4+ seziure letters and are fine. It just says items have been seized that go against the laws of this country and that you have x amount of days to claim it or the contents will be destroyed.

If you are importing large amounts of vials, amps, raw materials, etc. than they could arrest you.
