    customs

Lets say a small order, (amps sust), that has been "imbound into customs" for about 7 days. What are the chances of getting them? Imput...

Before, it's taken half the time to go through.

Depends why they are holding it.
Here in the UK they held one of mine for 30 days (which is the maximum) they were only awaiting a true cost of the goods because the price my supplier put was unrealistic and they assumed i was trying to avoid some customs duty.

it's not coming, if u have tracking then its some kind of express service and seized packages always get stuck at "imbound to customs"

Usually takes 2-3 days, if longer than a week than you can kiss it goodbye most likely unless its a holiday rush or something.

You never know I have had packages come 3-4 weeks late after being held and even opened at customs.

Me too, I was amazed when my package finally came and it had yellow customs tape on it.

You know, I wonder if the fact that I got Orgenon amps, indtead of a UGL multidose, this time screwed me. I bet the dude sent the box too or something. I'm glad it was a small order.

    ditto that.

I was all freaked out that the package was opened. But all the gear was there and in tact...

i think they're talking about a standard mail package that has no tracking info, i have heard of that before, customs opening a package but still not detecting whats inside probably because they don't have time to mess with it and move on to the next package.. if it has a tracking # then it means it is some kind of express-and there is no reason why it would spend that much time at customs, when it gets seized tracking just stops at the last place it was at.

  12. #12
There is no letter yet, however, the tracking still says the same, "inbound to customs." I guess it is seized.

  13. #13
I now have another package from another place. That tracking has been on "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment," since last Friday. How likely is it for a package to get stuck at that status in tracking due to seizure? Does that happen as well?

    It's seized most likely.

Mine was in customs for 6-7 days before the source decided it was seized and started the reship, even days later (9-10 days later) when I asked them to double check on the previous order they said it was still in customs so it is seized.

Thats one reason why I havent ordered from somewhere yet.

  21. #21
In Romania, EVERY package is opened by the customs. That's why I stay away from ordering online, especially from outside the EU.

What coast did you have it shipped to, if you are east coast you are proably fine if you are on the pacific i would say good bye to that pack

East Coast packages go through JFK which is alot easier to get through, but I have had a package seized there, but compared to west coast customs its alot easier.

I didn’t realize that I never followed up on this post. I received both packages. The first on came with a bunch of empty gear boxes and a letter form homeland security. Later, I received the official forfeiture letter from customs that gave me my three options. My second package took three weeks but I did get it, gear intact. Domestic tracking did not update until after I received the package.

I should know this. I've gotten several seizure letters over the years.

    1. do nothing, forfeit the gear.
    2. Contest it.
    3.....?

Anyway, you always just do nothing and cut your losses.

Humm... I never actually physically ordered anything over the internet... but you mean to tell me if I order something. And it's seized all they will do is send me a cute letter? In which everything gets forgotten about unless i so to say "contest it"?

I always thought a fed would come knocking on my door...... LOL
Hell I can't even get away with not wearing my seat belt.... but they let that slide and just confiscate it?

#1 could be 2 options, sign to forfeit the gear or don't sign anything and in 30 days, (i think it said 30 days, might have been 60; there was an X amount of days), you may as well signed and they go through with the forfeit process anyways.

based on this thread I guess I can assume my stuff was siezed. my source sent the the first package on april 7th and the second on april 9th. the first package tracking info reads

Your item arrived in the United States in ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS) at 8:47 PM on April 10, 2009. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

I got the second one on the 18th like someone stated above the only track info avaliable is whats written above and the date it gets delivered. thats if its delivered. this sux ass. sunday makes it a month since it arrived in the country.

And you still haven't received a letter or anything?

  39. #39
don't think i would sign. i would just let it go.

Mothers day is this Sunday. This time of the year is second only to Christmas for deliveries. Could be the problem, but I believe Customs can hold an item for up to one calendar month. All you can do is sweat it out and wait.
