Agreed on this one. Getting your gear in 4 days and having a low to no risk of seizure is worth the extra few dollars.

Also, how can they know it is gear if it is shipped in non descript packaging with papers and invoices of a common substance such as soap or lotion? What if the product wasn't prohibited, did they open my sh*t and remove some of it for testing?

Because a package with tracking goes through a separate checking. You think custom agents are stupid? You need tracking for lotion or soap package? Especially when the package is coming out (most likely an obscure area). So they run it through screens and if they see something suspicious they open it and what they find is confiscated till testing is done then you get a letter.

I still think the best form of shipping is EMS, some may wonder why I say that. That is because EMS (Express Mail Shipping) is not checked by customs but rather shipping personnel hired by customs and thus the chances of them checking packages is lower because the people checking are independently hired not customs agents.
