    Weight training on painkillers

i gotta be on pain killers like ibprofen and oxycodone and an antibotic for this damn tooth

physically im fine and want to continue my routine but im worried about
    A. should lifting be done on pain killers
    B. i heard the painkillers were found to have blocked the workings of an enzyme known as Cox and inhibited the adding of new protein to muscle.

should i just wait, or battle through it

wait, take a break untill you don't need em anymore or just work out early and take the pills after working out.

I tore a forearm tendon while on Oxycodone

Stay away from that drug, it takes all but 3 days to get hooked and you will crash for a week of it. And feel VERY bad, mentally and physically

Opiod receptors will scream for MORE MORE MORE. I advise you take it ONLY once per day and only as needed. If you maintain 24 hour blood level you will get hooked and / or crash HARD.

yea take a break until im no longer taking them, ive been doing research and it is saying it has a negative effect on muscles because it prevents protein from rebuilding them or something.. kinda shitty

Ok as a recovering OPIATE addict I have to pipe in here...

If you are going to the gym whilst taking a Opiate based Pain Killer you are in for a world of hell...
    1.) They dehydrate you.
2.) You no longer have a pain threshold where your body will tell you when to stop
    3.) ADDICTING AS ALL HELL
4.) Your mind is numbed, OPIATES are not a PAIN killer... all they do is numb your BRAIN so you forget about the fact that you have pain. BAD
5.) They just aren't worth it... YES it feels GREAT when you are on them... don't get me wrong.. I miss them... that's the mind of an addict... I am in Recovery, I got addicted after my accident.. I needed them. Then when they stopped giving them to me.. I turned into the biggest ASS !! I hated everyone and everything. It was the worst experience of my LIFE.

So to sum it up.. JUST DON'T DO THEM.

That's all I have to say...

only side effect i see is it slows down protein synthesis

whats the painkillers for with your teeth? for me it was removal of four wisdom teeth. if so, u should probably take off like the doc says if necessary. haha i went back to the gym in a day with a mouth full of gauze....prolly waznt wise though cuz i ended up with "dry socket" from pressure on the stitches. not fun, not fun at all.

as for the painkillers, I just took em after i got back from the gym. Ur only gonna be at the gym for a little while so u can simply delay ur taking it for a little.

man nothing has made me more depressed then oxycodone/percocet and you build such a high tolerance for those things and they become addicting...not worth it.

"forgive them Lord for they not know what they speak" -Jesus.

He does not know the world of pain and evil that comes with Oxycodone ( oxycontin) if he does it for more then 4 days or so he will get hooked ad then he will see and feel what we warned him of.

Godson you better heed what we are saying. Oxys are hell on earth a true Demons drug.

    BE careful

3 days is all it takes

if one has to use it,
they better ONLY be once per day and only as vitally needed

once you take it twice a day and more for more then 3-4 days you get trapped
