There is actually a legal movement in legislation in 37 states to fight and reduce the amount of control that the Federal Government has over State sovereignty. One point of contention is if a State disagrees with the Federal Government then The Government withholds Federal Tax dollars from said State until that State complies with the Federal Government.
Now one may say whats wrong with, but if one looks deeply into the message that sends, it is easily to see how quickly the Federal Government can take power from the State Law Makers. In theory and in practice as we have seen, this erodes State sovereignty little by little and effectively escapes the checks and balances that are suppose to reign in over zealous Government.
Not to say that any state is thinking about seceding.![]()
