First game of football in 4years and now my leg is screwed!!!

    Ok so here it goes,

I got a call to play football over a field. I go even though i was a bit wary as id already done a 3mile run this morning. So after pissing about for 5minutes with teams we start. less than a minute in i go for the ball and pull my GROIN, hurts like hell and then i do a charge for the ball which nearly brakes my noise.

So i continue to play, then just before half time i reach for the ball 'now in attack position' and BOOM!!!!!! I hear a ping and a bolt of what felt like electric shoots down my left leg. I wonder what the f*** is damaged and then it eases off and i can not even walk. My hamstring is screwed, i had to sit and after some walking i can move it but i know for well tomorrow it will be stiff as heck.

Funny thing is i boxed for years, ok i broke nose and thumb but man this was like getting hit square on the chin with pain. I will ALWAYS warm up from now on.

Hamstring injuries suck badly. I had a friend who was a runner - he pulled or tore his ham really badly and his leg was blue etc. Took a year + to heal where he could lift and run again.

BE CAREFUL - stretch slowly, and limp - go to a Doc if it's real bad, Hams take a good amount of time to heal.

amcon is offline physical pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside... The pain of quiting will lasts forever!!

Hey thanks, Last night i couldn't sleep as the constant pain was keeping me awake, i managed to get an hour or 2 but thats it. I must say though that it feels better than i thought today, i can walk ok but it feels as if its wanting to go again any minute.

I will not be training legs this week I will just have to rest it and go from there.
