where do you live J Dogg? because out here where I live in CA. there are no weights for kids to lift in middle school let alone some club for lifting the heaviest. I know in high school theres a weight room and a club though, maybe you meant to say high school?
I think kids atleast those that were in my age range stayed in great shape from just playing sports outside, we did it all. Baseball, football, basketball, road bikes, just whatever, I didnt know one kid who lifted on a normal base untill high school.

I live in MI, in the mid west and the south football is big big big.

We have a really nice weight room in our JR High and have since I was in school, I'm 29 now. We put out all state soccer and football teams almost every year.

Lifting a few times a week in Jr High IMO is not going to affect your growth plates. Everyone gets in a panic about it, but there are probably very few actual studies on it, just like AS.

Like I said, I've been lifting since I was in 5th grade, I started using 8-12 reps till failure in Jr High. I am 6' with 5'10" parents and I have no deformities except a set of long ass monkey arms.
