Yea, but people just don't like Kimbo for whatever reason...that's cool. Free country or free will, however you want to call it... but let's not start trying to act like all the guys in MMA are some stand up civilians. Crazyhorse is a hard addict, Brock and his enterouge are attitudes with no respect and i can fill up this page with everyone. The bottomline, is that there are too many people focusing on Kimbo instead of checking out what happens.

As far as a glass jaw, anyone can go down and he went down. Big deal probably wasn't his first nor his last. everyone goes down at some time. I seen his backyard brawls and he is no chump and he HAS taken some shots in the past. Who gives a shit anyway. Half the dudes dissing Kimbo on the I-net are a bunch of kids that never been in a fight and they have a bigger mind than they do a body or fighting abilities. Also, just because some dude typing on the internet goes to a local dojo and does some training for a few months, doesn't qualify them as a good fighter or the expert on these issues.

I don't understand why people get all defensive when it comes to this guy in particualar. That's why I root for him I guess...I have noticed that most of the haters are ground experts (or allege to be), so they must feel threatened about some dude that likes to scrap come in and do a little something. To me it's silly when a bunch of dudes start spewting out who is fit for fighting and who isn't from there laptop eating a bag of chips. I say Kimbo and a whole shit loads of dudes would put them in their place in the streets, gym, work, or whatever.

    So off my rant.

I like Kimbo because he can punch, thats it, I hate his damn beard, iI hate his stupid hair cuts (head and chest). But from a fighting view a punch is

better then a grappler. You can teach a puncher some ground game and take down defence and he will excel. But it seems all those jj guys just cant

seem to learm to punch, I cant name names, but I have been watching this stuff and trained some and I have just noticed that. The grapplers are great

dont get me wrong. I know how hard it is to ground fight and how tiring it is. But those guys dont have that "killer instinct" the puncher has. I am a fan of

both styles of fighting, but I like a fighter that does both. But I'd rather see a fighter with 80% striking skills and 20% ground game then the other way

    around.

I agree with rockinred too about the internet kids watching this stuff then thinking they can fight and go to a dojo and think they know it all. There just

nerds who all of a sudden think they can fight. There weak and will get punished by someone who has fought for more then a paycheck

I noticed the same thing about jj guys trying to punch and punchers learning ground. Stand up doesn't seem so easy. I always thought it had to do with how grappling trains your brain...makes you think a little too much. But who knows...I suck at stand up...good kicks but for the life of me I can't throw clean punches without leaving something open.

I'll put it in a way that some of you guys might understand...most on this site are body builders. Imagine some one who doesn't lift very good and doesn't have very good size coming out and becoming famous because of some BS that has nothing to do with BB or competing...then that same guy gets shots that a 1000 other more developed and harder trained individuals didn't get. THAT is why there are so many people out there who don't like him. As for training for a few months and calling themselves experts...i never called myself an expert (although i think no one was aiming that straight to me), but 6 years in BJJ makes me be able to see some things that might just be a little more obvious to people like me than to joe blow eating his wings and watching UFC at hooters. Just my 2 cents.

All that aside...i hope some one from this year turns out to be a real top notch fighter , cus Brock is beating with his size...need some one out of the season with size and skill to keep the weight class competitive.

Well technically that BS did have something to do with mma. All im saying is that just because the man marketed himself in a way that he got the opportunities that others havent, shouldnt make people hate him. If he was able to come straight from street fighting, to being the main event on a televised event, then he must have done something right.
