What would you guys recommend for third shift workers? I usually training when I get out of work, have a post workout shake and then hit the sack. It's tough maintaining a normal schedule. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

whats 3rd shift...is that 2200-0600?.....how many hours sleep do you get/need?
11p-7a - I usually get about 7hrs of sleep during the day.
i think its not bad really.....i did it for years when i was younger.......i got good results working out then eating then sleep....i recovered well.....
I did it for about 2 years. I worked out right after work. It was hard to get to sleep sometimes and the workouts helped cure that.
I work that now. I eat when I get home, then about an hour later workout. pwo shake, bout 30 minutes later eat again, 2 and a half hour eat again,
then sleep by around 2:30, wake up at 9:00 then got to be at work by 10:00.
If your new at it then it might be hard to adjust. But I have been doing this
10+ years and its routine now. I even take care of my son all day untill my GF comes home to releive me of my daddy duties. Get a diet and scheduale down you will be cool.
Cool brother thanks. I just have to get into a routine.
i work graveyard as well. I lift in the morning when i wake up after breakfast. Funny thing i have been gettin better results working this shift becuase my social life was thrown into the gutter and work the weekends, no drinking
That's true..lol.
I have worked 3rd shift off and on over the years and working it now 6pm - 6am. I love it. Less management and all.
I have a set of dumbells and an exercise ball at work I also use. I also take my lunch and go to the gym and either before or after work. I must make sure I make time for the gym whenever but go at least 4x a week.
I also like it because I can keep food at my desk all night and eat probably 10 of the 12 hrs. I try to find time to do some work once in a while also. LOL
well if your sleeping 7 hours......id prob just go about how i would do normal shift.......finish work have something to eat...go train....do what you have to do...then sleep....when you get up do your cardio ...eat then off to work....eat at work as i would during day shift...
