Best thing is just to try to work a deal. Dont even bother with an attorney at first. Go talk to the prosecutor...see what he is willing to do..you may get PTI. If he isnt willing to budge...then say you need time to get an attorney. Then stay outside of the prosecutors office...watch everyone that goes in...See what attorneys go in over and over again. They all know eachother....these attorneys will generally have the best rapport with the prosecutor...also what you can do is look up the prosecutors name...he may have a practice or had a practice with other attorneys...look these guys up. Basically you want a defender that has a good relationship with the prosecutor. The prosecutor will see that you are feeding money into his industry...that in combination with a good relationship with your defense attorney can really have an impact on what is ultimately left on your record.
