I was working at a hospital 3 months ago..... I got offered an awesome opportunity to work for a company - they were about 7 years old and faily new. They didn't offer health insurance but compensated with a bigger salary...... I took the job since my wife had blue cross/blue shield through the same hospital.

My wife just got fired..... I have no health insurance for the 1st time in my life and it's scaring the sh*t outa me..... I could absolutely kill her

why?

you're larger salary from the other job should have been putting money into an account specifically to pay for your healthcare.

I had the job for 3 months..... she is now laid off..... my income is the only income supporting us. If I buy health insurance for the 2 of us on our own plan and not through a job - I wont be able to afford heat this winter.....

I took the job without much haste because she had health insurance. I would have had 2nd thoughts if I knew she was going to be fired..... Normally that extra money would have been put away in savings for something such as this..... but the unfortunate part of owning a house is that something always breaks.... I.E. my water heater - also need 4 new tires for the car.....
